Nicole Potvin is an entrepreneur, marketer, and SBDC small business consultant. Her business focus has been in hospitality, writing, and marketing. She has also held corporate positions in marketing and communications with a medical device manufacturer and led a destination marketing organization to surpass its annual revenue goals. Nicole works with small businesses throughout Michigan’s Upper Peninsula to help them increase sales through expanded marketing efforts. Jamie Gilbert has served as Director of the Lancaster County Department of Economic Development since 2016. He has successfully built and led economic development programs at the county level in South Carolina, Maryland and Georgia. Since arriving in Lancaster County, Jamie has brought a record number of projects to the community. In May 2019, Jamie was named one of the Top 50 Economic Developers in North America by Consultant Connect. Over his career, Jamie has facilitated the recruitment and expansion of hundreds of global businesses in a variety of sectors including advanced manufacturing, customer and financial services, food processing, headquarters operations, and much more!

Jamie will speaking at the Economic Development Update panel at "Just Imagine. . ." where he will share his expertise and insight on a variety of economically related subjects. The panel will also be moderated by CN2 anchor Lucas McFadden!

 
 

Ryan Sanderson is a military transplant and former Air National Guard Airman who has lived in York County for the last 15 years, and currently resides in Rock Hill with his wife and two children. He is one of two Co-Founders of Knowledge Perk, is very active in the community, and highly involved in the York County Regional Chamber. Ryan currently sits on the board for Historic Rock Hill and past boards include Rock Hill Area Council, Executive Committee, and YC Regional Board of Directors. He was chosen as the York County Regional Chamber’s Small Business Person of the Year in February 2020.

 

Ryan will be leading the “Securing Capital for Growth” session at “Just Imagine. . .” in which he will share the knowledge he’s gained from as a successful small business owner in regards to finding sources of capital and taking your business to the next level.

 

A native of Philadelphia, Joanie Winters is an attorney with Winters Law Firm. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Winters worked in the private industry as the Director of Human Resources for a nine hundred-employee site development company. She also serves as a Director for the Chester Development Corporation and for the Workforce Initiative Act Board for Catawba Regional Council of Government, among many other local positions. Ms. Winters has received many prestigious honors over the years as she has helped build and mentor her community, including the Human Resource Professional of the Year award by the York County Chamber of Commerce and the Society for Human Resource Management in 2008, as well as the Small Business of the Year award by the York County Chamber of Commerce in 2017.

 

Joanie will be leading the “Managing Employees Across Generational Gaps” session at “Just Imagine. . .” wherein her incredible skill set and history will be of great use in teaching you how to manage the difference in employees who have been raised in various generations. You will leave with a valuable combination of tactics and knowledge to ease tensions and create interconnectivity in your business!

 

Stephen Turner is an experienced economic developer who has led Rock Hill's challenging transition from a declining textile manufacturing center to become one of the region's fastest growing cities. His resume includes the development and marketing of four businesses that have attracted thousands of new jobs to Rock Hill. More recently, he has focused the community's attention on critical needs in Old Town, the city's historic core. The results include the creation of Knowledge Park, adaptive reuse of several historic textile mills, and a resurgent Main Street fueled by dining, entertainment, and arts. Stephen is a member of the Board of Directors of the Arts Council of York County. He is a founding member of Historic Rock Hill and currently serves as its president.

Mark Hart joined the Carolina Panthers in December 2018 after 23 seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and now serves as the Panthers’ vice president and chief operating officer. In his role, Hart leads the development of the team’s real estate and infrastructure projects and oversees the team’s facility operations at Bank of America Stadium, including security, parking, and information technology. Hart is also an integral part of the Panthers' efforts to bring more non-football events to Bank of America Stadium. Hart is leading the planning and development of the team’s new headquarters in Rock Hill, S.C., and has been instrumental in the development and construction of the Panthers’ climate-controlled practice bubble at Bank of America Stadium.

Dawn Mendoza is the owner/founder of Movement, Mindfulness and Me Yoga and Massage in Fort Mill, SC. She is a licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of South Carolina, is registered with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy and is SIPT certified. Dawn has been an occupational therapist for over 20 years with a concentration in pediatrics through transition age for over 18 years. She has worked extensively in many settings, ranging from the NICU, early intervention, sensory integration clinic/hospital setting, the public-school setting, in the community and in-home environments. She has been practicing yoga since 2010 and has used yoga and mindfulness to fully support her own life since that time.

You’ll find Dawn leading her very own session at “Just Imagine. . .” where she will teach you how to reduce anxiety while running your business, taking lessons learned from her own experiences and teaching you how to apply them to your life. You’ll leave the session relaxed and optimistic about your business operations!

 

 

Jeff Burgess serves as the Project Manager for Chester County Economic Development, where he works with recruiting prospective companies and assisting local companies in their plans for additional investment and job creation. He has 20 years of experience in economic development, specializing in business relations, industrial recruitment, business retention and expansion, strategic planning, downtown revitalization projects, and speculative building programs. Previously, Jeff worked as Vice President of Business Development for Fitts & Goodwin, Inc. Prior to joining Fitts and Goodwin, he served as the Executive Director of the Lee County Economic Development Alliance and at the South Carolina Department of Commerce, where he held the positions of Grants Manager and Rural Manager.

David Swenson is the Director for York County Economic Development where he leads the business recruiting, existing industry, and targeted marketing efforts for York County, South Carolina. As Director, Swenson works directly with the York County Council, the York County Economic Development Board, local governments within York County, the SC Department of Commerce, and other state agencies, local businesses, utility providers and the general public. He is very engaged in international and domestic marketing and business development efforts with a strategic focus on assisting site location consultants, manufacturers of transportation equipment, aerospace products, advanced materials, machine manufacturers as well as warehouse and distribution companies and corporate headquarters and back office operations.
